1. Check ESD Compliance Standards
Make sure the shoes meet international standards like:
ANSI/ESD STM9.1
EN 61340-5-1
ASTM F2413 (if toe protection is also needed)
These standards ensure the shoes have the correct electrical resistance (typically between 10⁶ and 10⁹ ohms) to safely dissipate static electricity.
2. Choose the Right Type for Your Work Environment
